For this purpose, 57 charcoal burners were the subject of an investigation and 12 millstones of charcoal including 4 green and 8 deadwoods were followed. At the end of this study, it appears that in the commune of Djougou, only the traditional millstone is used for carbonization. The most commonly used species for carbonization were Isoberlinia doka (82.45 %), Anogeissus leiocarpa (65.54 %), Vitellaria paradoxa (45.21 %) and Prosopis africana (37.55 %) and finally, Burkea africana (23.53 %). The mass yield of charcoal was 19.42 % for dead wood and 24.87 % for fresh wood.
